Join Noblis at the National Cyber Summit
We will be at the National Cyber Summit in Huntsville, Alabama September 20-21, 2023 at the Von Braun Center
Visit booth #1106 to meet our team and learn about our cyber, model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and digital engineering capabilities.
We are delivering insights through analytics to stay ahead of internal and external threats.
Federal agencies and private entities alike are facing great challenges in areas such as cyber situational awareness, defense of cyber physical systems and shortages in qualified staff. Cybersecurity professionals need a new breed of tools and techniques to act as a force-multiplier and increase their mission impact.

Transforming Perimeter Cybersecurity to a Zero Trust Strategy Using Model Based System Engineering
Noblis Speakers:
Pat Meharg, Chief Architect – Model Based Systems Engineering
Neil Gensler, Cybersecurity Engineer
The challenge enterprises face today is how to transition to a Zero Trust Architecture without impeding operations or compromising security. Applying a Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) approach provides an integrated, coherent, and consistent set of engineering products serving as the central repository for requirements, design decisions, and candidate solutions creating an Authoritative Source of Truth (ASoT). The Zero Trust Reference Architecture modeling activity is based on the CISA Zero Trust Maturity Model (v 2.0 April 2023) and the DoD Zero Trust Strategy (Oct 21, 2023). The models are purposely built at a high level of abstraction to define and describe “what” a Zero Trust Architecture and framework is intended to accomplish from two different stakeholder perspective. Each model contains the pillars, capabilities, and levels of implementation from each strategy creating a reusable set of digital artifacts. From what is referred to as 150% model, variation points are used by the enterprise and/or programs to define and describe their specific Zero Trust implementation approach. Once defined, a new model is created from the 150% model specifically tailored to their unique needs. The reuse of the reference models significantly reduces development time while aligning programs and projects to a common baseline.

Modeling and Simulation and MBSE
Noblis is performing high-fidelity, fast-time modeling and simulation that supports both early investment decisions and operational analysis. We create tailored solutions that actively capture and solve stakeholder needs to transform legacy system engineering to model-based “digital twins” designed to support the system across the entire lifecycle.
